Thanks to DDOT for posting these great aerial pics of 11th street bridge progress. You can see the piles crews have already driven deep into the Anacostia River bed. There will be 63 piles in all to support the 3 new bridge spans. Also, an estimated 21,000 cubic yards of concrete and about 16.5 million pounds of steel are to be used to construct the new bridges and connecting ramps. (Click on the pic for a larger image).
