Two Thumbs Up

Traits of a winning coffee shop include a comfortable atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and above all, good coffee (or in my case, tea).  Big Chair Coffee has all three, plus an upstairs lounge (not quite open yet), and it's locally owned, too.  They offer a full range of coffee drinks, from espresso to mocho, plus non-coffee beverages such as chai, hot chocolate, juices, sodas, etc.  Hungry?  Try a veggie burger, turkey burger, omelettes, hash browns, or a pastry.   If you come through in the evening and want something with a bit more zang, look for beer or wine in the near future.  This funky, colorful and inviting place looks to be the new spot to meet my friends for a bit after work.  Looking forward to Saturday brunch this weekend.  For some great photos of the place check out And Now, Anacostia and Congress Heights on the Rise.
